In response to a complaint made by Air India, Shankar Mishra was arrested on Wednesday. Apparently, the incident took place on November 26. The accused, Shankar Mishra, is a vice president of Wells Fargo, an American MNC with its headquarters in California.

While travelling from New York to India, Shankar Mishra committed the horrible crime of peeing on another passenger while drunk. On November 26, 2022, the accused urinated on a female co-passenger who was a senior citizen in her 70s and riding in business class on an Air India trip between New York and Delhi.

The guilty passenger, Shankar Mishra from Mumbai, has now been identified by Delhi Police, despite the airline’s initial refusal to file a charge against the suspect. In order to stop the guy from leaving the country, the Delhi Police stated on Thursday that it has urged the Bureau of Immigration to issue a lookout circular against him.

A drunken man urinated on a passenger, resulting in a 30-day suspension and the filing of an FIR with the Delhi Police.

The Delhi Police filed a FIR against the culprit on Wednesday and formed multiple teams to find the suspect based on the victim’s claim to Air India.

The disturbing event happened on November 26 when a male traveller in business class urinated on a female traveller in the same class, much to the woman’s shock and horror. The man exposed his private area after urinating, as claimed, and remained there until other passengers begged him to leave.

The crew gave the female passenger some fresh clothing. Later, she was moved to the crew seat because her own seat was soiled with urine.

After the plane landed in India, nothing was done right away. It was not until the female passenger filed a formal complaint with the airline that an internal committee was formed. The accused passenger was given a 30-day flight restriction. A 30-day ban is the most the airline can impose on its own, according to the statement. The matter has been forwarded to the DGCA for further action.

The National Commission for Women took notice of the occurrence and later wrote to Air India.

An apology and a monetary settlement were accepted by the offended passenger on Wednesday, as per sources at Air India. The dispute was also settled during the flight. The news outlet PTI reported on this.

As per the PTI report, they also insisted that there was no crew member negligence because they supported the offended passenger. They had also put her in a different business class seat that was set aside for them.

Shankar Mishra, who is he?

The culprit, Shankar Mishra, is the vice president of an American global financial services company. According to the police, the company’s headquarters are in California. Shankar Mishra lives in Mumbai, but he has been escaping the police.

Air India receives a show-cause order from the DGCA.

The New York-Delhi flight’s officials and crew received notices from the DGCA on Thursday, asking why no action should be taken against them for “dereliction of duty” in handling the “urination” incident on November 26. In the DGCA’s opinion, Air India’s actions seem “unprofessional.”

In Delhi, a case has been filed.

The victim’s complaint cited the Aircraft Rules as well as Indian Penal Code sections 294 (obscene act in public place), 354 (assault or criminal force to a woman with intent to outrage her dignity), 509 (word, gesture, or act intended to offend the modesty of a woman), and 510 (misconduct in public by a drunk person).
