Kasol and Kasauli

A lot of people are confused between Kasol and Kasauli and consider them to be one destination. Let us throw some light on that.

 

Kasol and Kasauli both are situated in Himachal Pradesh. Kasol is near Manali where as Kasauli is near Simla. They both are a very magnificent looking places but very different from each other.

Kasol is a tiny village located along the banks of the Parvati River. It has off late become a popular destination for trekkers and back packers. It has an eye catching view which enlightens the soul and picturesque beauty. It is still little untouched by commercialization and is located 42 km from Kullu at a height of 1640 meters. It is also considered to be the home for Israelis. The main income source of this place is tourism which brings a lot of liquid cash. It is a hub for weed, hash and marijuana. It has more or less become a home town for a lot of foreigners who come here for relaxation.

How to reach: There is no direct bus from Delhi to Kasol.

Via Bus: One has to take a bus till Bhuntar bus station and later take a taxi to Kasol. It takes 13 to 14 hours to reach Kasol via bus.

Taxi: You can hire a cab too from Delhi to Kasol

Flight: The nearest airport is Kullu airport and from there one can reach Kasol via cab which is only 31 km’s away.

Train: The nearest railway station is Joginder Nagar which is about 143 kms away. This option is not advised better to opt for a bus or cab.

Kasauli is a very small beautiful town which can be easily covered by foot. It has enchanting views and is only 55 kms away Chandigarh. It is covered by the simplicity and peaceful charm of Himachal Pradesh and is also famous for its lush green surrounding with plenty of oak trees. The place is also a getaway for hikers. It is believed that in Ramayana, while searching for medicinal herbs for Lakshmana, Lord Hanuman placed his foot here while searching for the herb. Kasauli is blessed with striking and charming landscape. It is the best place for rejuvenation and a break from daily routine.

How to reach:

Bus: There is no direct bus to Kasauli. One can take a bus from Chandigarh to Kasauli. 

Taxi: Private car is also a good option.

Flight: Chandigarh is the most suitable airport and taxi can be taken to reach Kasauli which will take 1 and a half hour for you to reach.

Train: There are many trains daily from Delhi to Kalka and from there one can take a cab or bus which takes 1.5 hours to reach.For flight option.

Both the places are unique and have different colors to reveal. It is better to witness the magic by travelling there.
