Shehnaz Gill or Sana is a Punjabi actress, dancer, singer and model. She was born on 27th Jan 1993 in Punjab. She has featured in many music videos but what brought her to the limelight was participation in BIG BOSS 13. On the day one itself of the show, she drew everyone’s attention with her Punjabi accent, Punjabi attitude and funny nature. She address’s herself as “I am Punjab ki Katrina”. Even Salman Khan seems to have soft corner for her and supports her in the show. But the cute looking dumb act of Shehnaz is for real or she is faking it to gain popularity?
Shehnaz Gill is a breath of fresh air in the stressful atmosphere of Big Boss no doubt on that. She is the utmost entertainer of the house and with her funny antics she has won everyone’s heart. Even her fellow contestants have also given her the title of most entertaining contestant in the house. A lot of expelled contestants of big boss 13 feel that Shehnaz is faking it all on the show.
She acts very adorable and naive inside the house in front of Sidharth Shukla and Paras Chhabra but when she is with other inmates, viewers get to see a complete contrast of her childlike character. She appears to be ill mannered and very loud. Ex contestant of the Bigg Boss 13 Daljeet Kaur shared in an interview that, Shehnaz Gill has done her homework very well and playing an innocent card in front of powerful men in the house (Sidharth and Paras) is doing wonders for her. She is very intelligent, shrews and crafty. She is a big time fake.
Divya Sharma, who is also a Punjabi actress also spoke about being Shehnaz Gill as fake in an interview as she knows Shehnaz Gill for over 2 years. She is a different person in real life. But here she is not being herself and acting. Shefali Bagga who was convicted in the past and has re-entered the house as a wild card entry said in an interview that, Shehnaz Gill is playing safe and is very irritating at time. It gets difficult to tolerate her annoying nature. She will be dumb in few things and super clever in other. Even ex-contestant Abu Malik feels the same.
Karishma Tanna a famous TV actress doesn’t find Shehnaz Gill cute and finds her over clever. Even existing inmates feels that Shehnaz always supports Siddharth even when he is misbehaving to the core with other inmates, not because he is right but because she knows that Siddharth is the strongest pillar in the house and can take her ahead in the show.
Salman Khan often takes her side as she is his favorite contestant. Anyone can fall for her innocence as she does it with so much of conviction. Her behavior gets on the nerve sometimes and she is not as dumb as she pretends to be. Her behavior was quite weird when Himanshi entered the house as she was very scared her reality will come out.
In fact, a lot of viewers admire her dumb side but many feels the game plan is perfectly played by her. Even the makers feel that they can fool the audience by showing her cute side and they are successful in thinking like that. TRP is the proof. She tries to be in the limelight and is an opportunist whether it is acting dramatic during her swayamvar or mimicking other housemates or acting like an English teacher.
Her witty fun-abhi one liners can be seen through her instant replies like, when she told Vishal “tere mein koi kammi aa gayi hai kya” or telling rashmi and siddhath “tum log yahi pe shaadi kyun nahi kar lete”. Shehnaz Gill ‘s funny one liners keep the audience hooked on to her. That is one of the reason Salman Khan supports her as he also finds her entertaining.
But the truth is she is the funny bone of the house.
