Cricket is the world’s most popular outdoor sports. Although the national sports of India is Hockey. But Cricket has predominated all other sports like football, badminton, tennis including hockey as well; in terms of admiration, acceptance, recognition, acclamation and marketability. In India, one can find children, adults playing cricket in every corner of the street.

The sport has more than one-billion fans worldwide. Cricket is enormously implanted inside the heart of millions of people of India. They consider it as their religion, batsmen are considered as god. Kids wake up with a dream of becoming a cricketer. They have strong desire towards playing for India. Cricketers are role models in the eyes of the youth. But for becoming a cricketer one has to do a lot of training. By just merely holding a bat one doesn’t become a player. You need to have a right attitude, mindset and approach on and off the field. Depending upon the demonstration of their distinctive qualities a Captain of the team is selected.

Here I am going to share few qualities of India’s two sensational captain’s MS Dhoni and Virat Kohli. They both are unparallel in their specific field. Their remarkable abilities to play the game has been very critical in many victories. They both have different style, techniques, hence there is no comparison. It is like asking apples are healthier or oranges. Let’s look at few qualities of both the legends.

Qualities of MS Dhoni as a Captain:

He is highly unpretentious: He is very simple and unaffected by whats’s going around. He doesn’t take success to his head or failure to his heart.

Pressure doesn’t touch him: Dhoni is a man who handles pressure like no other can. He is also called as ‘Captain cool’ by his team mates. He remains calm in the toughest of the situation.

A true leader: A true leader allows its team to understand the values and the rules they have to follow, irrespective of any situation. As a leader MS Dhoni takes the charge and leads from the front. He doesn’t believe in perform as I say, he believes in perform as I perform.

Respect the opponent: He has the potential to scrutinize the opponent and praise their strategy while in the match.  He respects the opposition and never criticizes them.

Multifaceted: He is a batsman, wicket-keeper, fielder, an all-rounder and he is loved by the entire team. He has built a team culture of ethics and values.

Team player: Dhoni has always stood for his team through thick and thin. His continuous trust and support gives the team strength and ability to perform their best.

Trust his Intuitive: MS Dhoni believes that taking risk is part and parcel of the game. The kind of decisions he has taken yield phenomenal results for the team. He takes chances and never regrets.

Excellent stamina: Virat is the fittest amongst all and has excellent stamina. He believes fitness can improve the quality and performance of the game on the field.

Leads by example: He plays from the front and takes his team along. A leader can break his team or make his team. Kohli is a power house, energetic and enthusiastic.

Quick learner: He is a fast leaner and has a remarkable presence of mind. His hunger to improve himself is quite evident as he doesn’t get shy away in accepting his weaknesses and goes an extra mile to work on it.

Works well under pressure: Whenever India is falling short of huge runs; all eyes are glued on Virat Kohli as he is known to play under tremendous pressure.

Open for challenges: He trusts his ability so much that whenever a tough situation comes he enjoys that challenge and gives his 100% effort. He is not afraid to experiment.

Concentration at its best: Once he focuses on a task there is nothing which can unnerve him. He owns perfect leg work and his discernment to hit the right ball is worth the watch.

MS Dhoni and Virat Kohli have unique abilities as a player and a captain. Dhoni style of batting is defensive where as Kohli is aggressive when he bats. Therefore, there is no comparison.
