Earlier, Rajapaksa completely turned the tables on Pakistan with an unbeaten 45-ball 71. Sri Lanka ended up scoring 170/6 despite being 67/5 after the first 10 overs.

Man of the Series is Wanindu Hasaranga.

After defeating Pakistan in the championship match, Sri Lanka was awarded the 2022 T20 Asia Cup. Six teams, comprising Afghanistan, Bangladesh, Sri Lanka, Pakistan, India, and Hong Kong, competed in the 2022 edition of the competition, which officially began on August 27.

Since the tournament’s start in 1983, the India cricket team has consistently topped the list of winners.

The Asian Cricket Council arranged the inaugural Asia Cup, which took place in Sharjah, United Arab Emirates, in 1984. In the championship game, India defeated Sri Lanka to win the inaugural Asia Cup. The Men in Blue were declared the inaugural tournament champions. When the second Asia Cup was played in 1986, Sri Lanka, the runners-up from the first competition, won the title by defeating Pakistan.



The 12th Asia Cup, where T20 World Cup champions Sri Lanka were proclaimed as champions, was one of the most entertaining tournaments ever. Despite several close matches taking place, Sri Lanka easily defeated Pakistan by five wickets in the championship match.

Team India has won the trophy seven times, making them the most successful team in the competition. Pakistan has also won the Asia Cup twice, while Sri Lanka, who has won the coveted trophy five times, is in second position. Bangladesh can be called unlucky not to lift the trophy despite appearing in three Asian Cup finals.
