Arvind Kejriwal, the chief minister of Delhi and the leader of the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP), made an unusual request to Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Wednesday, October 26, in an effort to “boost the Indian economy” by redesigning the Indian currency to include images of Mahatma Gandhi, Lord Ganesh, and Goddess Laxmi.

Arvind Kejriwal told the media that while significant economic reforms are necessary, divine favour is necessary for them to succeed.

At a press conference, Arvind Kejriwal expressed dismay about the state of the Indian economy, saying, “Our economy needs a lot of effort to get back on track, but we also need the help of our gods and goddesses.”

“On Indian banknotes, there is a picture of Gandhi Ji on one side. Leave it alone as is. The entire nation will be blessed if an image of Ganesha Ji and Lakshmi Ji is placed on the opposite side.

He also urged PM Narendra Modi to implement similar measures in India by citing the example of Indonesia.

Lakshmi is the goddess of money, fortune, power, beauty, fertility, and prosperity, in contrast to Lord Ganesha, who is revered as a remover of obstacles and is associated with luck.

The AAP leader stated, “I will write to the Centre tomorrow or the next day to seek it.” We also need the almighty’s blessings aside from the efforts to improve the country’s economic condition. “

The people of the nation’s capital will reject the BJP, he continued, because the AAP was well prepared for the elections for the Municipal Corporation of Delhi.

Sisodia also tweeted in support of Kejriwal’s demand: “Lord Ganesha and Maa Lakshmi are representations of wealth. With their blessings, the nation will grow, advance, and top the world. The nation of India will benefit from having images of Mahatma Gandhi, Mother Lakshmi, and Lord Ganesha on its banknotes. “

Arvind Kejriwal references Indonesia.

Instead of the government changing the present notes, Mr. Arvind Kejriwal contends, the images of the new currency should be printed.

“A Muslim nation is Indonesia. Only 2% of people identify as Hindus, whereas Muslims make up more than 85% of the population. On their banknotes, however, is an image of Ganesh Ji. No one is the subject of our conversation. Everyone’s and the nation’s prosperity are at stake in this, “he stated.

The BJP criticized the statement of Mr. Arvind Kejriwal.

In an interview with the news organisation ANI, Sambit Patra, a spokesman for the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), claimed that Kejriwal’s demand was made in order to secure Hindu votes before the Gujarat Assembly elections.

He was the same person, the source claimed, who declared he would never visit the Ram Temple in Ayodhya because he thought God would not accept the prayers offered there.

Manoj Tiwari, a member of the BJP, also charged that Kejriwal had maintained in his party individuals who had previously denigrated Hindu deities.

To avoid looking bad in the polls, they are implementing new strategies. The Ram Mandir critics have returned “wearing a new mask.” In a statement to the media, Tiwari remarked.

Congress referred to Mr. Kejriwal’s demand that pictures of Lord Ganesh and Goddess Lakshmi appear on banknotes as “vote politics.”

Congressman Sandeep Dikshit described the AAP as the “B-team of the BJP” in remarks to the news organization ANI.

“He is the BJP and RSS’s backup plan. He does not comprehend anything. Vote-based politics, “said Dikshit.
