The government prohibited the use of 59 Chinese applications, which includes top social media platforms like TikTok, Share it, Shein and WeChat, amidst the border strain between India and China. The ban has been implemented to counter the risk posed by these applications to the nation’s sovereignty and security. Here is the list of 59 Chinese applications banned by the Indian Government.

The parent company of TikTok is Byte Dance, which is likely to lose $4 billion after the Indian Government banned 59 Chinese applications.
