12 Bad Horror Movies made in Bollywood

Bollywood does not have a big presence in the world of horror movies. They ought to thus continue producing the love stories that they excel at. But their horror movies are terrible.

Bollywood has made hundreds of efforts at horror movies, but except for a few, most of them ended up being jokes that claimed to be frightening. We will not argue against such masterpieces as Raat, Darna Mana Hai, and Tumbaad, but everything else in between was terrible. Nothing can be done to change that. So, the following is a list of horror movies that were so laughably poor that we could not help but laugh.

1. Ek Anokhi Kahani, Jaani Dushman

Jaani Dushman: Ek Anokhi Kahani, which is more of a comedy than a horror movie, sits at the top of the list. The movie was really Ajeeb, just like its name. The film, which was intended to be a horror-fantasy-thriller, was anything but scary. Despite having Akshay Kumar, Suniel Shetty, Sunny Deol, and Armaan Kohli in it, the movie had a dismal opening weekend. Sonu Nigam’s performance was dreadful, and Manisha Koirala, a rape victim who was a cobra in her former life, is now a ghost and is seeking retribution.

The entire Naagin drama multiplied by 5 is highly bizarre and cringe-inducing but utterly hilarious. It is regarded as one of the worst horror movies ever made.

2. Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2 (2022)

Even though the movie is a smash hit, to see it to the very end, one needs to be delusional. Aneez Bazmee, the filmmaker, does a terrible job at carrying out the scary parts. Despite Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2 claims to be a horror comedy, there is virtually no comedy and very little terror. While cohabitating in the same home as her family, Kiara Advani pretends to be dead and hides from them while still being alive. Wow, what a smart brain! Overacting is something Kartik Aryan excels at.

It is among the worst horror movies of all time in my opinion due to over acting by the star cast and weird story line.

3. Kaal

In this movie, which stars John Abraham, Vivek Oberoi, Esha, Ajay Devgn, and Lara Dutta, a group of friends band together to drive ghosts out of a haunted forest. How could we have forgotten that the movie contains an item number with Malaika, SRK, and lots of glitzy clothing? It is unfortunate that Karan Johar and Shah Rukh Khan’s attempt to turn Kaal into one of the worst horror movies ever failed badly.

4. Aks

Although there is a lot of Amitabh Bachchan action in the 2001 film, it’s an illogical movie. Aja Gufaon mein Aa, the infamous song that we have all sung in a spooky voice, the exorcism at the end, and ghosts possessing humans are all included. Fortunately, we are producing better material now. By the way, the movie was directed by Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra.

5. Hiss

Unquestionably one of the worst horror movies. A storyline with a sexy “Naagin” and an “unseductive” tone. We do not advise you to watch it unless you want some good laughs. In my opinion, it ranks among the worst horror movies ever made.

6. Alone

Alone, the bloody thriller starring Bipasha Basu and Karan Singh Grover lacked any horrifying elements. The film’s explicit sexual content, overacting by the lead pair, lack of a coherent plot, and inappropriate direction utterly failed to terrify the audience.

7. Rakht

Another film that abjectly failed to frighten viewers was this Bipasha starrer. This film is not at all scary. Fans wonder why a filmmaker like Mahesh Manjrekar would produce such a film. You are certain to feel no fear at all while watching this film! It only wastes your money and definitely your time.

Because she possesses the “gift of reading tarot cards,” Bipasha (a.k.a. Dhristi) runs a local fortune-telling company in the film. We believe that knowing the angle the movie was taking and how it could affect your brain with just one line is sufficient.

8. Kuch Toh Hai

Tusshar Kapoor and Esha Deol starred in this Anurag Basu-directed film. Also, this film is a prime example of Bollywood’s lack of originality. The film was a flagrant replica of the Hollywood film I Know What You Did Last Summer. In the film, a mysterious killer is killing a group of friends. Kuch Toh Hai does not scare you at all.

9. Paapi Gudiya

Child’s Play, a Hollywood production, is copied as Paapi Gudiya in Indian cinema. Furthermore, the doll lacked any spooky qualities. It’s actually a funnier movie than a horror one.

10. Suryavanshi

This movie truly makes me chuckle, so I could watch it repeatedly. This fantasy horror movie is not at all what it seems to be. The soundtrack was one of Salman Khan’s biggest failures. The soundtrack was one of Salman Khan’s biggest failures. The scary film appeared to be humorous. The much-awaited, thrilling climax turned out to be a total waste of time. Even Salman Khan, who is blond and has six-pack abs, did not look his best.

11. Bandh Darwaza

Because of its cheesiness and ability to make horror movie lovers laugh, “BANDH DARWAZA” may be my personal favourite of the Ramsay Brothers’ horror movies. This film is Bollywood’s response to subpar B-grade horror movies. It portrays a sad little comedy about vampires in India. The main vampire appears to be donning a clown mask, and the entire film has a cheap, sinister appearance that essentially makes it appear as though it was shot in a cemetery.

12. Saaya

With John Abrahan’s expressionless performance, SAAYA appears to be a film that is not sure if it is a horror or love story. You anticipate being scared, but it is really a love story with a few spooky parts.

The result: Neither does Anurag Basu’s SAAYA, starring Mukesh Bhatt, rank with RAAZ or BHOOT, nor does it appeal to those who seek love stories framed by supernatural thrillers.
